It is addictive, and a much more complex game then one imagines.

Look at most Poker Pro's, rarely do they make enough to live, the majority make more from sponsoring web sites or writing books.

Doyle tells a great set of stories, one was a good friend of his that asked him for money because he had a bad run and needed to feed his family. Doyle gave him a fifty.

When his friend asked Doyle where he was going he said to play in a $500 buy-in. His friend said, wait, I'll go with you.

Doyle said, Wait, I thought you were out of money and needed some to buy food for the week.

His friend replied, oh yes, but that's the family money, I still have my bankroll I'd never touch that for just food.

Or read how much they lose. If everyone won at poker, the top pro's wouldn't be the top pro's.

It's frankly an insane lifestyle, so yes, it can ruin your life, and PP is known for the world's best bad beats.

Let me tell you about mine ....

Smile.

I play poker for a living online and run the only poker religion. Having a poker crisis? Turn to the COTH!

Poker is a game of skill. If you don't have the skills, you should have noticed it and either walked away a long time ago or started reading poker books. If it is just that you can not resist gambling, seek professional help or find a GA group.

Not destroyed by it. You can not beat a computer at anything. I haven't played for months because you can't win. The person that said they paid off their bills was behind in his bills because of PP. Do like I do and play freerolls. Find you a local live game near your house to play. Here's a tip I live by: A GAMBLER'S MONEY HAS NO HOME. This week you may have my money next week I may have yours. Good luck to you at PP. I won't be seeing you there. Ha
