Constipation with narcotics is a very common side effect. Peri-Colace or Colace can be purchased over the counter and is a doctor recommended stool softener. Take this as directed on package when you first get it, then as needed. Stay away from laxatives, they can cause severe cramping and will surely make you feel worse than you do now.
The vomiting may very likely be because you are taking your Vicodin on an empty stomach. ALWAYS make sure to take it after eating something, even if it is only something small. Get in a routine of taking it after meals. Also, if you are taking 2 at a time, try taking only 1 and see if that helps with the pain and if you're taking 1, try cutting it in 1/2 to try and lessen your dose as that could be the cause of your nausea as well.
Hope you feel better and recover quickly! :)

constipation is a side effect for any narcotic and if you feel sick to your stomach the dose is too high or is not agreeing with your body ask the dr to put you on tylenol 3 or darvocet for pain or reduce the mg. of the vicodin

both are side effects of this medication. If you had a car wreck because of the med then don't drive when you use it. try a six pack with the pills, you will feel great.

What the other person said about talking to Dr about changing meds or lowering the dose.
Also, talk to Dr about a stool softener to help with the consipation. My SIL had the constipation with the same med when she had her baby (and then had surgery) and they put her on a stool softener. She said it certainly helped with that problem!
Good luck and Goddess Bless! I hope you recover soon.

Try taking some Dramamine to help with the nausea. But make sure your eating something prior to taking the meds. But if you have and it doesn't help call your doc. He/she could put you on something else; like Oxycottin or Perkiset or Soma

those are some of the side-effect of opiates. Unless you are prescribed that medication, you need to stop taking it at once. If you are prescribed and taking it as prescribed you need to tell your doctor about these. If you are taking more than the bottle calls for you need to stop and tell your doctor what you are doing. He/she may be able to prescribed something to you that is non-narcotic.
