It would seem to me that carrying around all that extra fat would be equivalent of walking around with weights strapped to your arms and legs all day. Or is any gain cancelled by their general unfitness?
How about if they lose the weight sudenly, say by liposuction?

Yes in the legs and calves, but not in upper body.

No, because all that extra weight puts a strain on their heart and lungs. And liposuction doesn't do much to decrease weight, it just removes small, fatty deposits anyway. HTH : )

They don't get the exercise they need. They do more sitting than moving. Not good.
