They talk a lot about basic human rights like equality and education for woman and we see the soldiers hand out education material. However, not one general or government official has ever uttered a word about freedom of religion.

President Hamid KARZAI is coming to Canada this week to talk. Will he have the moral will to put freedom of religion in a written constitution.

Or will President Hamid KARZAI deny the 1000 korea christian missionaries that wanted to attend the 2006 Peace festival in Kabul.

Perhap the soldiers should hand out Bibles or Buddist, Sihk, or other religious scriptures to really test President Hamid KARZAI.

You realize of course, that Hamid Karzai has virtually no power outside of the Kabul area, right?

Local wits often refer to him as "the Mayor of Kabul".....

Are you sure about that freedom of religion comment? There a re alot of NATO nations out there, and even more governmental officials, especially if you take this all the way back to NATO's inception. I think you are making a generalization, which is very dangerous, in that it colors the perceptions of others.

And, for the record, people, the United States is a member of NATO... Go do some research and get educated.
