Built a Hawken back in the day. It had Globe front sight and a folding peep sight on the back with elevation adjustment. Out to 250 yards I'd match it to any scope-sighted modern rifle. Hadda give it up; the recoil always left a bruise on the skin over my collar bone. But I did luv that rifle.

Used one for years for deer and squirrel. I now have two of the eastern longrifles (a southern style .40 and a .54 early virginia) both made by Tennesse Valley Muzzleloaders. I HIGHLY recommend them. They build a quality product.
