Are you sure it wasn't a wig? The doctors do not talk about "remission" until she has been disease free for years. From the sound of it, she is probably in the middle of chemotherapy...also a good reason for her to be wearing a wig.

All you can do is pray for your friend, and try to be there for her when she needs you.

There is something wrong in the INFORMATION. Radiation therapy does not cause fall of fair. Only if a patient has Chemotherapy hair fall will be there and it will come back after 6-12 months to the original stage.

Getting back the lost hair is not remission of the disease. However she should see her Oncologist (Chemical or radiation) who treated her last regularly and take his advise to mitigate all the side effects she is having or she may get henceforth.

We all pray for her well being

No, I dont believe this is a miracle. I have had leukemia, twice. And there are several things that could show bad lab results, but nothing be wrong once you do the biopsy. I have actually been in that position before. A lab showed outragously high white blood cell counts and a lot of blast cells, but when they did the biopsy to double check and some more lab work, I just has a really bad infection. No cancer.

The doctors will let her know when she is in remission. My dad had leukemia and he would go into remission for two years. After two years it would be back, they'd treat it and it would be gone for another two years. I don't know if the two year remission is normal for everyone, or if it just had something to do with my dad and his health. Maybe she'll go into remission a lot longer. I hope so.

Not an expert but my guess is loss of hair is only a result of the treatment and once the treatment is over, hair comes back. The doctor has to test for the results.

There is alot of good stuff on the internet if you want to understand what she is going through (a sign of a good friend).

Unless the leukemia affected her central nervous system and she received radiation to her brain, radiation would not have caused her hair to fall out. Also, cancer rarely effects the way someone looks so I wouldn't rush to any conclusions.

Unfortunately no. Only the docs can run test for remission. She is in my prayers.
