She is NOT an Urban type. She is kind of contemporary/country if you get my meaning. She enjoys her horse, talking with her boyfriend and hanging out with her friends. She is NOT into partying (im serious here, she is quite the homebody) or clubbing.
She is kind of a tomboy and wears only a small amount of jewelry.

I would like to do something for her or find a gift for her that will be memorable, something that means something but Im at a loss for any good idea.

The person with the best idea earns 10 points and my thanks!

Just thought I would toss in, EVERY year on her birthday we have a Mom and Daughter day. She always gets a kick out of playing Hookie that day. Its kind of our traditional Girls Day Out since the rest of our family is male.

As a matter of fact, my daughter had a Ford Ranger. However, it currently needs a new engine (cracked block). My husband and I have been talking about putting a new engine in it but Im not sure that would suffice for a truly memorable 18th B-day gift.

well like her i am that way too. and will be turning 18 soon, i have often thought about what i would like to do/have for my birthday...so here is some idea's i have thought of...
To do:
1) throw a surprise party(if she has never had one yet) with her closest friends and boyfriend there too!
2) Set up at a rodeo place(my uncle gave my dad this idea) where she would be the rodeo "queen" there that day.

To give her:
1) a belt buckle (with gold or silver, if she would like that. or even with her initial on it) that on the back has an engraved message on it from you.
2) Give her a ring that she can always keep.(it's not too much jewlery but just enough to wear)
3) something that would bring up a past memory of the past that the 2 of you share, and can be kept even after you die.
4) if she is religious, get her a memory bible that you write inside of and she can keep close forever.
3)

(trust me presents like above are things that she will treasure forever, even after you are gone, that way she can always remember you)

I hope that helps, best of luck and good wishes. :)
tell her i said happy birthday!!! :)

My daughter is 17 and quite the opposite to yours she is a young lady raised in the city so she is into dressing and all that goes with it . but for her 18th she said that she wants a day spent with me doing what she wants . that will be shopping lunch and a show in town i would presume but I don't know for sure but i figure 1 day out of my life is easy. I think that you can do the same just tell your angel that you are at her disposal for the full day prior to her birthday to do what ever she wants its her day and you are shouting her she can go any were with you and do anything that she wants to because this is her day . PS a small gift like a new saddle blanket with her name and her horses embroidered on it might not go a stray

Try a day at the spa, the two of you. Or a new saddle? Or even both... Does she have a vehicle? Maybe a little ford ranger! Or maybe a nice dinner at her favorite resturaunt with a couple of her best friends, her boyfriend, and mom and dad!

Even if she doesn't wear jewelry, I think a personlized charm, that you can engrave with a personal message would be supreme. Maybe something from Tiffany & Co. Their sterling silver is expensive, but not out of range.

A picture of her and her horse in a nice frame, a Tiffany's bracelet, a family heir loom perhaps.

Get her a voter's registration card and "Mom and daughter day at the spa coupon"

A REALLY NICE PIECE OF HORSE JEWELERY WOULD PROBABLY BE APPRECIATED. YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING FROM RINGS, EARRINGS, ETC. JUST GET ON YOUR COMPUTER AND TYPE IN HORSE JEWELERY. THIS IS SOMETHING SHE WILL NOT OUTGROW, BUT WILL MEAN A LOT TO HER IN YEARS TO COME.
