What century is this? What are you all so afraid of? Your kids will end up gay if they see some gay people? All this nonsense about it being an abomination against God! Please, grow up. They are just like everyone else accept gay, not heterosexual.

Do you really want 10% of our population to have to go back to living in the closet? That is so mean. Mean, and cruel.

I guess you'll need to take that one up with God, since He is the one Who named homosexuality a sin, not only in the OT, but also in the NT.
When will people figure out that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God? Sin is not something to be proud of or to brag about, but it is something we must learn to deal with, in ourselves, as well as one another. When I see sin in myself, I get on my knees and pray to God to help me overcome it (and yes, I'm on my knees alot), I don't brag about it, or talk about "letting it out of the closet". It is difficult to be a Christian, especially if one is facing the world's approval of something they know is against the law of God.....
Funny, I have never seen a Kleptomaniac Pride parade, nor a Pathological Liar Pride bumper sticker, nor have I ever seen anyone Proudly Proclaim thier involvement with organizations such as the KKK. Why not? If we're gonna be proud of our sins, why not be proud of all of them?

It's not hatred. Christians do not believe in homosexual behaviour, period. It goes against God. We cannot adhere to anything that goes against Him (Leviticus, Romans, Acts... more).

I am saddened that you believe we hate homosexuals. We don't. It is in the Bible, "hate the sin, not the sinner".

It's more like this, if you have a friend who's standing in the middle of the road and you see a truck barrelling down. Would you not warn them? Would you not try to move them out of the way? Would you just let them get hit? No. You love them, you warn them, but ultimately they have the choice to stay in their place or leave. If you need help with the analogy, let me know...

That's what we try to do. Through talking, through prayer, through love, we want only the best for everyone. We believe that can only be through a true personal relationship with God without sin.

I hope that helps.

God bless you.

I think a lot of it is truly ignorance (I mean the dictionary meaning of not fully knowing, not the meaning of assinged to the word by usage which equates to stupidity). I didn't have a very good attitude towards them until I started working with them. My attitude changed overnight, and I think many christians would have the same reaction under the same circumstances.

I believe they're wrong to practice homosexuality for the same reason I think it's wrong to have straight sex outside of marriage or for the same reason I think it's wrong to go gay-bashing... because the bible tells us that these are sins. But this won't stop me from having genuine friendships with them or anyone else who sins (like my wife, or people in my church for example).

Morganie xo, how many times have you seen a gay saying Christianity is an abomination that should not be tolerated? Any protesting gays against Christianity?

This is the problem, generalizing. Because some christians have a hard time accepting gays, you automatically generalize all of us like that. This is why christianity has so many problems, people like you generalize all of us because of what a few do or say. Really ticks me off.

And for the record, I'm American, I'm christian, and I have no problem with gays. Wanna know why? Because we all sin, every flamin one of us.

They have such a hard time because their bigoted, greedy "spiritual leaders" know that they can appeal to people's fear and bigotry by calling them sinners and abominations, and thus get people to donate more money to them if they are "battling the homosexual armies of sin." And the sheep with no brains of their own follow along with the hatred, never quite being smart enough to figure out how they're being used and lied to. They just nod and say to themselves, "yup, I shore do hate them there homos -- don't want none o' them tryin' to seduce me or my kids!", and open their wallets to give more money to the hate-mongering leaders, who laugh all the way to the bank.

Oh, and "christian-lady-2001": one chapter from the place in the bible where it condemns homosexuality, it says it's a sin for a woman to come out of her house, be seen, or be touched by anyone for the duration of her menstrual period. Yet, I don't know any christians who go around condemning women for not doing that, while in Leviticus it's just as bad as homosexuality. So, why do you choose to "enforce" the homosexuality biblical rule, but not the menstrual one? Hmm? Hypocrite.

A lot will respond that it is an abomination. No where in the Bible does it state it is a worst sin than any others that are listed. There are some fairly hefty laws in there to. A lot of stoning etc.

They say they do not hate the sinner but the sin.. They seem to be just fine with the other sins though.. This would appear that they do have a lot of prejudice.

Damn hypocrites..

It is a shame to see even my own friends and family (not all of them, but enough to make me cringe) put down people because they are gay. Some will outright avoid certain situations, just in case. Like taking their wives to the hair dresser... a generalization and usually wrong, but that is how some act.

It is cruel to put people in the situation that they feel they can't even be themselves around their loved ones. It's enough to kill a persons spirit. Makes me think that is their goal.

Uh well usually from a christian point of view, since they know God, being gay is a perversion of what God originally designed for us. That's my reasoning for disagreeing with it. But then there are religious christians who take it past their personal belief and start persecuting those who are gay and talking against them and all that. And that is absolutely wrong. No one on this earth has any place to judge someone else, even when they don't like it or disagree with it. And you're right, they are people, hellO!

Love the sinner and hate the sin, that is my belief. I am a believer in God and a believer in Jesus, how can I not love them or anyone else for that matter. I was not put on earth to judge, I am here to serve God.
