Herpes viruses 6 and 7 aren't the type of herpes viruses that cause the type of herpes you're probably thinking of. The herpes part just refers to the general family of viruses. The particular rash your daughter has is spread the same way most colds are spread, through droplets in the air or contact with someone else who had the same condition. It's not a particularly bad condition and should clear up in a week or so.

When someone mentions"herpes" people freak out.It has nothing do do with cold sores or the STD.Its just the name of the virus that causes the fever and the rash.Totally different strain.Shingles are also caused by a different strain of the herpes virus so don't fear.My son had roseola a few weeks ago and the rash was cleared up in 3 days.
