I have a female Mini English Bulldog that is just over a year old. I got her at 7 weeks and immediately socialized her with other dogs and people. she has been wonderful! until these last few days... she goes to doggie day care a few times a week to break up a week of being at home alone while I work. she agressively barked and snapped at 4 dogs in the last few days for no reason. they are happy to play and approach her in a fun way - just as usual. but she for no reason snaps and barks. I have been completely gutted by this. I can only assume there was something that happened at day care and she is acting out. OR she is at the 1 year mark and is showing her dominant side. I corrected her by saying no very strictly and grabbing the scruff of her neck. I hate to get mad at her becuase she has ALWAYS been so sweet. What do I do to correct this?

This is a tough one to answer without seeing your dog and her interaction with the others. In my experience, females of any breed are more aggressive than the males, at least with other females. However, if she's a year old already, she should have shown some signs before now. Has she been spayed? Could she be coming into heat?

Is she acting aggressive towards all the dogs now or is it just certain ones? It's possible there was some kind of incident. A lot of dogs resent others approaching them too quickly instead of going through a more cautious sniffing process.

Before you try to correct this you need to figure out if this is a complete personality change for your dog. Drastic changes in personality very often have a physical cause. Is there anything else different about her? If so, have her checked by her vet.

If it's just her snapping for no reason, try obedience classes but make sure you agree with the methods the instructor uses. If not, look elsewhere.

first of all, what the heck is a Mini English Bulldog? The regular ones have enough health problems which apparently was not good enough because some genuis had to breed even smaller ones. If you wanted a small Bulldog type dog you could have gotten a French bulldog or pug etc. As far as your aggression problem, what do you expect when you buy a dog that has been breed irresponsibly. I doubt the AKC even recognizes your dog. Very sad.

If this is a sudden behavior change, I would take her to the Vet to rule out a physical problem, maybe she is sick.

Not all dogs like daycare. At least in my experience with them, there is alot of humping, peeing, and fighting. A pup I had sold was going to one and she was completely miserable there, absolutely HATED it. Personally, after being involved in setting one up and knowing someone at another one, I would NEVER leave my dog at one. The employees and owners were completely clueless about dog behavior and care.

Sounds like an obedience class would be a good idea. I would avoid the cutsy furbaby classes like they have at Petsmart and go to a real training club where they will know how to deal with aggression problems.

Is she spayed? She might have come into heat and was overly aggressive beacase of it. Or she was just moody that day. There could be a ton of reasons.
