Well... if you got insurance prior to your license being suspended, your insurance company wouldn't know that right away probably. If you own a car, and you have a wife, or husband you can actually get a policy and they will list you as an unlicensed driver or non-driver and provide insurance and list the other person (spouse, whoever) as a driver. As a vehicle owner, you can obtain insurance, but you don't often see that scenario of insuring the vehicle for someone else to drive. That's all I've got. I'm out.

Yes, you can. You can specify on the insurance policy that you are a non-covered driver. Be aware though, if you are stopped driving the vehicle with a suspended license, many states will automatically take the tags and have the vehicle towed. You will not be able to get it back without new plates in that case and your insurance will skyrocket as a result.

Well, easy.
You call the insurance company and buy a policy. You WILL have to list a licensed driver as the primary operator, and you WILL have to exclude the suspended driver from all coverage. Then you get your insurance card, bring it to the DMV for tags. VOILA! Tags and insurance.

Anybody can licence and insure a car unless prohibited by law. You have to disclose that someone else is driving it. If that someone is a regular driver, and will have care, custody and control of the vehicle for more than 30 days, likely the registration and insurance will have to be in their name, and you retain ownership. If the car is still "sleeping" at your place, and you have someone drive you occasionally for shopping, etc, then it will be in your name. I am quoting what happens in Manitoba. It may vary in your jurisdiction.

Most states don't require you to be a"licensed" driver to register a vehicle! Just a small screw up in the system!
