When you work for the FAA you usually cant choose where you live, if they need you in another area. As a new controller they may put you in a small town at first. Your easier and best bet is to join the Air Force or Air National Guard (no prior military required). Search the FAA website for all your specific questions, and be prepared...go to the library and study up before your big interview and aptitude tests. Here is the website: http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/
