OMG, are you serious?? LOL I became fairly good friends with the UPS and FedEx drivers at my last job, and got to know them pretty well. You don't just hire in as a driver--you have to work your way up. By the time most drivers actually become drivers, they've been with the company for several years, and are making great $$ anyway. Not to mention the huge pay raise they get for getting the promotion to driver. :) No, you're not supposed to tip them. I'm sure there are some who would accept tips, but it's against UPS company policy to do so.

NO, it is there job to deliver just like the post office. They are late with the package half of the time. you order something. the person tells you next day delivery you get in 2 or 3 days.

typically, there is no need to tip the UPS, FEDEX, AIRBORNE, LONESTAR, or and package deliver. The whole of their job is unionized so I can see them making more money in one day that tips for a pizza guy can understand. Gratuity is not required to a package delivery man who is bonded and makes 25+ an hour.

Usually when we get a package from the UPS guy they are usually at their truck by the time we get to the door.
I agree with you I think there is just something not right with the person you got. I would get their name and them complain. I think they are not even suppose to make chat with the people, and suppose to be on the truck by the time you get to the door.

No they are no suppose to accept tips. If you have a regular driver that delivers to you on a regular basis, a small gift at Christmas would be in order.

As someone else already said, No. Not unless you get loads of packages, or live on the third floor, or your package is unusually awkward or heavy.
If you get regular deliveries, maybe at Christmas.
I used to work with a lot of UPS employees, and, as everybody said, they get paid quite well!

No. Be careful answering your door if you're alone. Most of the time you don't have to sign for a package, so just let them leave it at the door, if you can. If you know you're expecting a package that requires signature, that's the only time I'd answer.

If you are a business that gets regular deliveries or gets a daily pick up take care of him at the holidays.
The reason he was giving you a funny look is because many women melt at the sight of the guy in a brown unifrom and he's probably amazed you are not falling all over him.
