I want to ship some cookies overseas and would like them to be fresh an not all broken when they get there. What is the best way to package them so they stay fresh and in one piece?

No no, don't blow up the bag. They'll get dry and bounce all over the place. That's just silly. Instead, put the cookies in a ziploc. Before you seal it, put a straw in the bag -- halfway in, halfway out. Now zip the bag closed, all the way to the straw. Now suck all the air out of the bag. You'll see the bag shrivel up around the cookies. Exhale when needed, keeping the bag sealed just around the straw. When you can't get anymore air out, slip out the straw and seal it up quickly.

Now crunch up some newspaper balls -- a bunch. Layer the botom of a box with them. Plop the cookies in the middle. Surround the cookie bag with a bunch of other balls.

And you're done.

The best way to ship cookies overseas is to buy one of those metal tins that are made especially for cookies. You know the round ones they sell around Christmas time. A small Rubbermaid container will also work. Lay a piece of bread on top of the cookies...I kid you not! Wrap the container in bubble wrap and put it into a box. I have done this many times. The cookies will arrive nice and fresh!

try using a pringles chip can. I heard they keep most cookies from being dust by the time they reach their mark.

If you use the ziplock bags, blow them up for further cushining, ala potatoe chips. Also use styrafoam popcorn for further cushioning-works every time. marlyne B
