I am not sure how old you are but enjoy being in school. It may seem like a long time but it is better than the real world. In school you know what is expected of you, you have the security of your parents. I have a job where I work 40 hours a week (8hrs per day) Then I have to do things like shopping (30 min/day), cleaning (1 hr per day), cooking (1-2 hours per day), help friends and family members, pay bills, go to the gym, homework if i happen to be taking a class or two, attend weddings, baby showers, birthday parties for friends and their children. So with just the normal stuff I end up on the go for 12+ hours and that is just to maintain my life. That doesnt' include all the extras that usually take up my weekends. I know school seems like a lot now but someday you will appreciate it.
For the record I'm not some old lady i'm only 26 years old and have no children (I can't imagine what it is like with kids) about 30 min of free time a day (which is usually spent getting ready for bed or reading before I go to bed).
So enjoy your youth. Look at school as not only and educational experience but also as life experience. Enjoy the friends you have and don't get in a hurry not to be in school anymore because then you go from 7 hour days to 12 hour days doing stuff you HAVE to do not that you WANT to do.

I loved school. I was typically the brunt of many jokes...that "picked on" kid, but I stood up for myself and knew that the other students were ignorant about what was happening as my body deteriorated due to an undiagnosed flare of Lupus.
My high school began at 7AM and ended at 2:30PM.
Maybe that is why I am a teacher. I simply love to learn. It sure makes the world a more interesting place when you know what is going on...how the subjects all fit in somewhere, somehow.
Try going to bed earlier. Do your homework when you get home so you'll have the evening free to socialize. It is something we "Old folk" went through...you can do it too! Stick with it though, you'll be glad you did.

Actually, if you did the math, you'd find that over the course of the year, you spend significantly MORE time at home than you do at school.
Let's assume you're awake at least 16 hours a day (that's a full 8 hours of sleep - more than most people get).
Sixteen times 365 = 5840 *waking* hours a year.
In USA, a typical school year is 180 days. 180 times 7 hours of school = 1260.
Okay so the ratio of hours in school to total *waking* hours in a year = 1260/5840.
That's about 21.5 percent of your total waking hours per year in school. Leaving a LOT of waking hours NOT in school.
Maybe you need to learn some time management?

I do think that school is extremely tedious, but it also depends on the classes you take. Some are easy and fun, but if you take a lot of APs like me, then that increases your workload several fold. If you have regular classes, though, I don't think you should really be complaining because THOSE are BS... they're so easy I could pass them if I slept through the entire thing! But think about it this way. It's only time-consuming NOW. If/when you get to college, you can schedule your classes so you can go for like three or four hours, and you don't even go every day!

I agree with you on this subject. My school day starts at 8:15 and ends at 3:40, but now that I am a senior at high school I get out at around 2:45. I took English 1301 and 1302 and a Kinesieology (I think that I spelled that right?) over the Summer and since I am a senior, I get out one class period earlier. I have heard that in Germany, they start school at around 7:45 and ends at around 1:00 or 2:00!!! I sure wish that I was in Germany (Deutschland) now! hahaha Well anyway good luck with whatever you do in life:)

Man, I wish I only had to work as much as the kids get to be in school - consider yourself lucky. It doesn't get any better.
Summers and holidays off - home before 4 (it's not that bad, really). Try ditching school for a day to go to work with one of your parents, then rethink your feelings about school being too long.

Sometimes it seems long but if you hang with your friends its easier. Also if you dont have friends it is easy to make some, i started a new school 5 weeks ago and i have just about 10 new friends.
