Since all current understand of the universe breaks down at the point where the "Big Bang" started, that is time/space=0, anything is possible. So I suppose in that aspect there is room somewhere in that tiny singularity for god. Possible but not likely.
Your point is well taken however. There is room for both, one being a personal believe and the other a scientific theory, which is exactly why many scientist have no issue with religion.
