He has been on Eukanuba since he was 6 weeks, and since then I have moved and the place I go to does not carry Eukanuba.

Innova or Wellness. They are both all natural foods. My puppy gets Innova. Just make the switch gradually whatever food you do decide to get. Read the ingredients! You'll be surprised what they put in cheaper dog foods.

don't feed your dog COSTCO food whatever you do
I personally would recommend Nutro by Natures Way. Thats what my dog eats and ever since I switched her to that (a little less than a year ago) her coat has gotten really soft, she's gained almost 20lbs, and she can out run me on my bicycle. If not Nutro put your dog on Science Diet.

Just don't listen to slappy with the Costco food. It feeds them alright but the quality of the others mentioned is very noticable over time. Where as, Costco food doesnt have many options and most food on the market has things in it that your dog is most likely allergic to. Costco food will make your dog more lethargic than other foods and his/her coat will become dry and stiff.

Look at the ingredients and if it only says chicken, beef, or lamb etc. then you don't know what part of the animal is in the food. make sure the food says something like chicken meal, or lamb MEAL that means that you are getting chicken the meat not just chicken the animal

I recommend Blue Buffalo Blue for Dogs

www.bluebuff.com

Their foods contain ALL NATURAL and WHOLESOME ingredients. There's no by-products (which are the 'unedible' parts of an animal like beaks and feet---Science Diet and other low quality foods contain these), no fillers like corn (which are nutritionally useless and most dogs are allergic to it), and brewer's rice (the hulls left over after processing---nutritionally useless).

Read labels...a premium dog food will cost you alot more, but you'll definitely notice a difference. Look for chicken/lamb/fish/rabbit as a first ingredient. If the meat is MEAL it's even better. Meal is food with the moisture removed---meaning the weight of that ingredient is composed entirely of the food itself---not the moisture it contains. Look for whole brown rice, sweet potatoes, and especially sunflower oil (which improves the coat).

Hope that helps.

If you really care about your puppy's stumie problems then buy a small bag of the pedigree she was eating before and then mix it like you said (which is exactly what you're supposed to do). Spending the money to buy the food will make your puppy and your cleanup much better.

The Top Three dog foods are in order: Eukanuba, Science Diet, Iamms. I did a lot of research since my dog has a very sensative stomach. I was advised that I would have to get him the better dog foods. THey told me that the way you tell one dog food quality from another is to read the ingridiance. The ones that are good will have meat in the first 3-5 items listed.

Science diet is about the best dog food there is. Most vets will recommend that. However, its not sold like in grocery stores you have to get it at places like petsmart and stuff. If you can't find that then Iams is the next best thing. It is the best grocery store brand it used to be what most vets recommended before science diet came out.
