Has anyone been told they've got yeast dermtitis and then told there's nothing you can do about it.

I've got a bit of a red nose that has occassional flaky bits of skin, the skin also goes a bit wrinkly when wet.

Believe me I'm not that freaky looking but do from time to time let this get to me.

Yeast is a candida fungus. Anti fungals should take care of it. I use Lotrimin or generic clotrimazole on mine (not on the nose). However, since it recurs, it may be you have a yeast overgrowth internally, and that is how it is signalling its presence.

There is stuff you can do. www.hufa.org has a yeast link with some basic info. Natural stuff is anti-fungal food and an anti-fungal diet. Yogurt is one of the most well known, as the acidophilous bacteria is a natural enemy of candida.

Fungal infections can cause dermatitis - but there are treatments - see a pharmacist. Amorolfine cream may help - but get the advice of a pharmacist.

Rhinosporosis? There are antifungal drugs given systemically that I would think effective against this rare organism. Try another specialist.
