Logic can explain what, but not why. According to pure logic, this life is absolutely meaningless--we're born, we live, we die. That's it. You might as well be intellectually honest with yourself and just kill yourself now if this is all there is.
The good news is that logic has is limitations, so those who are honest with themselves will keep looking for what logic can't explain. Faith may not be "logical" in the empirical sense, but since logic can't explain everything, faith seems like the, uh, logical end.

Because it becomes circular at that point. Logic can be put to anything, but it is only affective when based off of fact. Faith needs no fact, so if there is none then you could go on and on with your logic in circles all day long. A fact is another story, the sky is blue, this is a fact and a fact needs no ones belief for it to be true. The fact that this logic is based off of a fact it becomes non-circular, for this fact can be shown, look up and you will see that the sky is blue. There, the debate has come to an end, I have shown that the sky is blue. Now to say that there is a God, well that is another thing all together, no fact in the world could prove this to be true.
Oh and by the way logic is not man made. It is simply a way of looking at things, there are many animals in the animal kingdom that use logic on some level.

Logic isn't bad; it's a wonderful tool! But it's insufficient to base your life on. Logic requires assumptions, and assumptions require faith in something--even if it's just faith in a method of choosing assumptions. There are no philosophies that I have heard of (and I've looked) that circumvent this necessity.
Faith isn't such a bad thing either. Once I got over the sometimes compulsive desire to find 'proofs' for everything, I realized that I did have a relationship with God and it was all the evidence I needed. Of course, when I communicate this, logic begs to know how I can know I have relationship without proof...and since I am not much of an apologist, the dialog with God has to be its own evidence. Very circular, I know.
And having read the above paragraph, we all now know why most people prefer logic to faith. Faith is hard, nebulous, difficult...not easy to explain. No wonder people have trouble agreeing about it. Logic is soooo much easier. Unfortunately, in my experience, it is not sufficient.
Hoping the best for you...

It's not bad. God gave humans the idea of logic. I mean, if we can use logic, and give the proposition that God is real, and that he created us, then he created us with minds that can use logic.
Jesus, in the bible, even tells people to compare what they think God is telling them to what God has already laid out in the scriptures. So, if someone thinks God is telling them to kill, which contradicts "thou shoult not murder", then it is not from God. He has asked us to follow logic, but also, with the premise that we understand that "his ways are higher than mine", and that God is more knowing than us, and he has knowledge of how things will work out. So we should follow logic in knowing if what we hear is from God, while letting go of our understanding of the world around us. Which is even a point made on that link, that our understanding of the world around us is not always accurate.
To make a bigger point that logic is to be brought into our faith, Jesus also told people to "ask, seek, and knock". He wanted people to ask the questions about what is going on so they could build their faith, or even develop a faith when they doubt. We know this because he follows this up by saying that those who ask will find their answers, those who seek will find, and to those who knock, the doors will be openned.
So, the truth really, is that logic has a lot to do with faith, according to the bible. Now, the question is, do you believe the bible?

Um... logic isn't bad when compared to faith. FLAWED logic is a bad thing. Flawed logic isn't the same as sound logic. They aren't apples to apples. I'll take sound logic over blind faith any day.
By the way, I know all about logical fallacies. I also know all about who generally tends to favor them as "debate tools and tactics".
