I actually did hear the same, that after a certain age it's not legal and that you can be denied housing for that. For example... a 2 bedroom condo if there's a a boy and a girl because they're not supposed to share a room, even at toddler age so...
Maybe state to state is different.

I've never heard of it being illegal for siblings to share a room! That would be horribly intrusive of the legal system, not to mention impossible for families with more than one child and not enough bedrooms for them all. I think the legal issue arises when there are many children sharing a room in a small house that is being shared by several families. That could be something that might warrant investigation by the child welfare system.

Here in Michigan I do believe it is illegal for a boy and a girl to share a room after a certain age.

I think it is stupid because if you only have two rooms what are you going to do.

Yes, in some states, this is the case... The law is usually up to ten years of age.

Once your daughter turns ten, she cannot share a room with her brothers. She can share her room with her sisters (if she has any), but no male siblings.

The law was made (imho) more to protect 10-12 year old girls from having to share a room with their 16-17 year old brothers.

I guess some bad things have happened before, if you know what I mean... :(

Check your state laws... but honestly, I do not think you have to worry about it until your children are older...

Best Wishes...
T.

there are very stable regulations approximately this rule yet it incredibly is the place it gets sticky, if the interior sight council does no longer have a much bigger place to place you in, then you definately are in fact dip out success. the regulations of youngsters [opposite intercourse] sharing a room is 12 yet that mentioned I knew of quite a few that went way previous that rule, their excuse is they did no longer have something larger to grant them. So on an identical time as you're able to desire to correctly have the regulation of the land on your side, they are in a position to no longer purely pluck a much bigger place out of the air and that they're going to extra desirable than probable propose which you swap yet another room [ie lounge] right into a mattress room for your self. the main ingredient with "incredibly" kicking up a fuss is that for the period of result formerly they gave the abode you're presently in, the place grew to become into you living??? factor being truthfully sharing a room is extra effective than no longer something, or you could constantly pass out into the open industry and get some one to hire to you on the going fee?? the different option you besides mght have is the place you're able to do an open substitute, it incredibly is the place you pass to interior sight workplaces and state WHAT you have and what you wish, and notice if there is a few one keen to swap, see you later as you're actually not in arrears [nor are they] and that they are actually not stepping right into a place that could make then over crowded [ironic i be responsive to] then that is purely a small quantity of workplace work and you will get what you needed. is this your council place or are you in B & B waiting to your place?? If B & B then I shared a very small room for purely approximately 2 years with the two considered one of my babies, area purely for 2 cots and one single mattress... so truthfully been there completed that.

I have never heard it was illegal! Although as they get older it may be uncomfortable but for young children it should be okay my boy/girl twins share a room.

Ummm, no. I live in KY and here, opposite gender children can't share a room after age 8. However, same gender children can share indefinitely.

I've never in my life heard that kids can't share a room. That's absurd.

I don't think it's illegal for any people to share a room.

There may be local laws about how many to a room, like no more than 38 or something.

I know foster children in my state have to have their own sleeping area, legally. But who the hell is the state to tell you your kids can't share a room?
