What do you think of the idea of the United Nations creating a fundamentalist Christian nation? That way, in America and other free, secular, civilized countries, we could live without their narrow, retroactive policies, while they can be happy living according to God's way, and non-Christians can live without fear of a religious civil war.

What is your honest thought on this?

"there already is something like this. the vatican. america is a melting pot of every ethnicity and every religion; it wouldnt make sense to only make it christian. plus, why only christian? are you racist against other religions? do you think everyone should be christian in order for everyone to be happy?
i think that's kind of closed minded - no offence.
unless i understood this the wrong way... but i think everything is fine as it is. all we need to do is work together to get rid of those who cannot accept other religions. those who are starting the fights. the one religion today, who is harming innocent people and might even start a third world war because others do not want to convert to their own religion."

I'm saying, give the fundie Christians their own land, not ours. They are trying to Christianize America, a nation founded upon and built on freedom. At the same time, I don't feel it's right to "kill all the Christians," because they are people too.

"o in other words, you're saying you don't believe in having a free society where everyone can worship according to their beliefs."

On the contrary. I like a country where EVERYONE has the right to worship freely according to their beliefs. Limiting stem cell research, limiting a woman's right to choose, forbidding homosexual marriage by law... those are NOT exercises in freedom of religion, they are Christian tyranny and oppression thrown upon a secular society.

It would never truly be fundamentally Christian. No nation could ever stay true to any one religion. Look at Israel and the U.S. for example. Man is inherently evil. It is by choice that we follow good paths in life. I wish we could be in a peaceful society like that, but war is a necessary evil that we must endure. There were wars all throughout the Bible. They all happened for a reason. I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Why must people always refer to the policies as "their" policies? It's not just Christians who make policies in Washington and the U.N. Why is it that the most liberal people who are supposedly "open-minded" are the ones who call these policies narrow? Ever think about that?

Who would be included in this Christian nation? Just Protestants? Just fundamentalists? Just Catholics? History has tried that sort of thing before and it resulted in horrific religious wars. The truth of the matter is that Christianity has flourished in America and Canada largely because of their secular governmental structure which includes the freedom of religion.

Jews made a country for Jews, but never found real peace. If christians does the same they may go thru the same turmoil. America was based upon a secular way of life, but down the line, jews took over the policies of the USA, and christians said "Amen", and we are reaping the crop of that "Amen".

Whose brand of Christianity would we be using? We don't even have across-the-board unity on all issues in ANY denomination, so who is to say who is the "right" kind of Christian? Would everyone be able to be like me, with long hair, listening to Christian metal and wearing "Satan sucks" T-shirts? (For the record, I do believe in the inerrancy of the Bible.)

We're much better off promoting First Amendment values of freedom of religion for everyone instead of trying to mandate a "Christian" society. It didn't work with the Puritans and it won't work now.

Where would you put it? Most inhabitable parts of the world are spoken for and the Christians are unlikely to be keen on Antarctica.
If you did find somewhere they'd immediately be at war with half the world. How would you keep them from developing nuclear weapons? Would they send out missionaries and annoy you anyway?

Just as long as this nation is nowhere near AMerica.
I'm not a christian, I don't want to live in a christian America.
I'm sure the jews would have something to say about that too.

Religion is not the real reason for America's conflicts. We already have enough Reservations in this country as it is.

nah, the problem is that anyone born there would be under immense pressure to be christian, as they would have to leave their home country to change their religion. If it were a country for sterile christians tho, that would be ok.
