What religion would Europe be if the Babylonian Captivity had been as harsh on the Kingdom of Judah as the Assyrian Captivity had been on the Kingdom of Israel? No Judaism would exist and therefore no Christianity or Islam.

Would Europe be worshipping Zeus and Isis and Mithras and Serapis? Krishna and Buddha?

ironcrosx: God could send Jesus anytime, but if Judaism had gone extinct, Jesus would have been born in some other cultural background, spoken a different language and used different religious symbols.

Europeans would be a mixture of all the different pagan variations. Wiccan (the old religion, not the re-invented one), druid, shamanism, etc.

As Jesus may wel have just been a retread of Mithras - I'd say Mithraism.

Of course there are also ties between Krishna & Jesus too - so maybe they'd all be Hindus - I could think of a lot worse religions.

But is mythological/mystical similarity the most likely driving cause ?

The bible has numerous entries that are shaped by the culture of the day & region - so why shouldn't the culture & region of Eurpoe shape their present day religion. It's a hetergenous culture as ours is, in the USA. But the waves after wave of empires conqureing large parts of the continent & the growth pressure exacerbated by the population density - perhaps it might be a less enlightened religion - human sacrifice would help kep the population down, as might killing the third child of every family.

They would still have been sent a prophet from God to bring them out of their desolate darkness...and into the light...

There is no nation on earth that has not had a prophet sent to it.

(16:36)
For We assuredly sent amongst every People an apostle, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).

What are you talking about? And do you keep attacking the ancient Assyrians? The Assyrians were the first group of people to accept Christianity, Jesus spoke old Assyrian, or Aramaic. Of course Judaism and Christianity still would survive. You need to get over your grudge on the diaspora of the Jewish people by the ancient Assyrians. Assyrians today are being killed in their native Iraq for being Christian and therefore are scattered over the world. The ancient Assyrians promoted the Jewish people into high positions to aid the king. Get over it.

I'm not sure about that 1.
Knowing the way the World is they'll just have 2 B 1 or 2 bright sparks, who wanted 2 B different & still B worshiping the Sun.

U know like people R, won't do what's good 4 them.

They would be Pagan as defined by the Christian church. They would have an animist, folk type belief. The one so many are returning to in Europe right now.

Baal the ancient god of the ancients, they would heat up a idol of him and place an infant in it's arms to burn alive.

Baal is the god of all other gods besides God, he was the beginning and he'll also be here in the end.

Your question is prefaced on the idea there is no true 'God', 'Gods' or meaning to religion. For example, if the Christian God wanted to send Jesus to Earth he could do so at anytime. What would stop him?
