I have been nursing my baby girl for almost 7 months. I noticed that my nipples are almost numb! Why is that? Will I regain the sensitivity in my breast and nipple are after I stop nursing? I would like to hear from women who have expierienced this, thanks!

Girl be grateful you have lost the feeling! I nursed my daughter and mine stayed raw and cracked and hurt so bad I had to put ice packs on them!!! What yours have done is what is called "toughened up" for the abuse they sustain while the baby sucks. That is a good thing, trust me on this!!!

Your sensitivity will come back and boy will it come back! You are actually more sensitive than before after you nurse and wean your baby off.

i would get checked out by your doctor, because I never got numb in the nipples, but I did however get sort of numb while she was eating. After the repititions of her mouth moving on my breast it would get numbish but i never lost feeling. Watch for elevated temp in your breasts and make sure you don't have any type of infection in your nipples. If you see red streaks down your breasts that are hot to touch go immediately to the doctor. Good Luck. Maybe mine just wasn't a little muncher like yours and this is normal.

No, you should not be experiencing numbness and should have it checked out.
