It's getting close to elections for congress and the senate, candidates up for reelection are trying to act tough on illegals, didn't we have this same problem 20 years ago when 3 million illegals became citizens and our government promised to stop the new wave of illegals and start fineing companys that hire illegals,if they didn't keep their promise then what do we expect now when it's up to 12 million illegals to deal with

Because they think we are all stupid enough to buy into their election ploy. All those idiots in washington need to be replaced, especially those pandering to big businesses.

Besides the fence (which isn't funded) the one that matters most is the one reaffirming the authority of local law enforcement to enforce immigration law. That is the one I can see not passing, because if the Big Business Republicans can't get their guest worker program, I suspect that they will want to keep the illegals still illegal, but also still here.

That the cheap labor they have....

Congress is doing as they've been repeatedly asked to do, take a solid stance on illegal immigration enforcement, and border security. Don't *****-slap em for doing what they've been asked to do....just keep on supporting your city and county and state and federal officials who are charged with the unsavory task of having to clean up after 20 years of bad immigration policy...god bless em, they've got a heck of a job to do.

I think if things start with employers being taken to court for having illegal aliens in their employ, rather than putting battalions of cops on the streets, this one will start to resolve itself. But, cities and employers have to really 'get it' that people are sick and tired of the weak policy/enforcement on immigration.

Just adding more law enforcement doesn't necessarily fix things, either. You have to start from a position of having good, honest, common-sense policies to begin with, which implies honest people with high levels of integrity being elected, rather than the sleazy fat bastard who's most likely to hand out the sleaze-buxx.
Choose wisely at the polls, or regret it later!

same as the Jon Benet Ramsey distraction news...

it's all diversionary , slight of hand tricks to keep us focussed on redundant and pointless news like good sheep

while with the other hand they are finding ways to mess with our voting rights, legal rights and protections against warrantless wiretaps and accusations of criminality without a shred of evidence

that goes for the repugnicans too. I am surprised they are letting their rights go out the door, what to happen when Dems win and now they are all suspects? LOL

what will happen when a Muslim president is elected?

surprised? a conversion after the election can always happen

look at the Criminal himself, converted to whack Christianity and fooled many into thinking he was a saint, along with his perfect no expression botox wife Laura..both convicted of DUI, Laura with Veh. Manslaughter, Bush went AWOL but now Christian? oh it's all good.

When they watch Hazelton, Pennsylvania and the State of Georgia...along with patches of places all over our nation rising up to deal with this problem, they must feel some need to placate the people.

Either way, we will continue working to preserve our sovereignty and to keep the philosophy of AZTLAN in mexico.

We should expect both parties to continue to lie to & steal from Americans while giving a handout to all illegals and big business! Middle-class Americans don't have a chance!

They tell us what we want to hear. That's all.
It is also to divert us from the other issues that are going on right now...ex...War in Iraq.

I agree but we have to keep letting our legislaters know how we feel. I have a web site that emails me as to who is doing what and allows me to send free faxes. It is www.numbersusa.com They keep me up to date and when to send and to who to send faxes. Pass this on.
