That is the Japanese name for that type of noodle dish (which actually originated in China). It's like asking, "Why is spaghetti called 'spaghetti'?".

I don't know. But I do suggest looking at the grams of fat and the number of servings per package. You might be surprised.

don't really know--- but I love them. I eat alot of them, my favorite is the beef flavor.
