He is very attached to me just like my own kid. I know that he'll die soon but I am providing all best things to him in terms of medication and the doctors. I am having hard time to accept the reality that he'll leave me soon ( because he has been with me for long time) Iam feeling very deppressed and sad and I think I won't be able to live without him. Iam so heart broken Please help me!! that is effecting my health and family.

You sound as though you love your companion very much. It will be very hard for you when he is no longer there with you. Have you talked to your vet about the length of time he has left? Is he in pain or is it hard for him to breathe? Ask your vet what he/she would do if it was their pet...and listen to the recommendation. We have a responsibility as pet owners to put our animals/furry children before our own feeling....and if that means taking him to the vet and holding him while he goes to "sleep" and crosses over "Rainbow Bridge". It will hurt...you will cry...and your heart will break. Going home without your friend will be sad and lonely. You are going to go thru the grief process, like when any member of your family dies. Then when the time is right for you, research the breed you want, and search for a new friend. There are also many, many lovely animals just sitting in cages, waiting for a good person like you to love them! Good luck - and I know you'll make the right decision for your best friend. God bless.

i love dogs and animals in general myself, but you would be well advised to put this dog down and get a puppy.i myself have had to do this same thing several times in past years. this dog is suffering and a vet cannot help. he can do it painlesly and easily.it will be over and easier for you and the dog both. remember you will be doing this animal a big favor, perhaps the biggest favor of all. do so now. i,m sorry to hear about this.

hun, take care of him until either he passes naturally or until you are ready to hold him while he is put to sleep........then go get another puppy.......you'll be amazed at much a new one will help you transition. Its normal to be depressed, this is just giving you time to mourn where as we don't alway get that opportunity.

You guys have had a good life together, stop the pain for him. Let him go in peace. Don't be selfish.
