How often do you wash your hair...?

I've heard that some women go a month without washing their hair because they have braids or perms or things like that is that really true? Does your hair smell after not washing it that long?

But to answer your question................ Your hair produces oils that your hair needs and if you wash it every day you can dry your hail out. But people like me that have curly curly hair and use lots of hair produces I think should wash there hair every day!!! Or at east every other day!!

I know some older women don't get their hair done but once a week or every 2 weeks but as we get older we have less oils in our skin.
I have dry hair. I can wash mine 2 or 3 days later wash my hair and when I wet it smell the shampoo I had washed it with before. Like I had washed my hair the day before. I think it's got something to do with body oils and how oily a person hair is. If I washed my hair everyday it would fall out. It never gets oily or flat. Some people don't have to wash daily.

Well, I've heard that washing your hair every day will make your hair go bad and you'll lose essential oils that your hair actually needs. But then again it depends on your hair type. If it's very oily then of course you should wash it everyday or every other day at least. But if it's dry then just washing it every two or three days is more than enough. Not washing it for a week or even worse...a month...now that's gross! Even unhealthy! Especially if you have hair extensions or whatever you shouldn't keep your scalp and hair dirty.

I haven't washed my hair in 6 months - if by washing you mean using shampoo and conditioner - I scrub my scalp and rinse my hair every time I have a shower though - the warm water is enough to get my hair clean all by itself. Doesn't smell either - it's really soft though, all those natural oils your scalp is producing are really good for conditioning your hair.

I try to everyday, but Dorm life sometimes prevents that. But it's not that odd to hear of a style that dosn't wash the hair. As long as it's kept well, hair in those styles won't smell or otherwise be unattractive from not washing it.

I wash my hair every other week. No my hair does not smell. My has a relaxer on it, and excessive washings will remove the relaxer faster. Women of color do not wash their that often due to robbing our hair of its natural oils.

Usually once a day unless I find a reason to do it more than once. Sometimes I'll skip washing it on a weekend but I never ever go more than 1 day without washing it.

i wash my hair every other day, and no it doesn't smell bad if you don't wash it for a while, i would know, i've gone without washing my hair for three weeks, (not that i wanted too.) also it's bad for your hair because the cleaner your hair the more likly you are to get lice.

I wash my hair every other day but condtion it every day. If I don't wash for more than 2 days my hair is really oily. I guess it all depends on your hair texture
