Ive just returned from a work trip to verona and i was gobsmacked at the history and suroundings of this beautiful place. It has it all and all you would want if you fancied a romantic break with your partner. I would think paris or rome would be a lot of walking but verona has it all in such a smaller area. Check out the tourist info web site and if your interested here is where i stayed just 2 buildings down from romeo and julietes balcony www.anticaportaleona.com its not expensive. i hope you like it.

Reunite time and again and you however won't see it all, it's this that will happen for your requirements if you spend your vacation in Florence; with hotelbye you may find out more. Surprisingly little since it is, this riverside city looms big on the world's'must-sees'list. Cradle of the Renaissance and of tourist masses that travel here to party on world-class art, Florence is just a magnetic, intimate and active city. The Piazzale Michelangelo (The Michelangelo Square) is among the places you must see in Florence. That square is a large, partially pedestrian zed square located across the Arno River from the middle of Florence. From the square visitors have a superb see over the city. The roomy square was organized in 1860 by Giuseppe Poggi, a local architect who is also noted for his creation of boulevards around the heart of Florence. Situated at the middle of the city's main market district, the Basilica di San Lorenzo is among the oldest churches of Florence and was the burial place of all the key people of the Medici family. Do not delay! Florence and their magnificent treasures await your visit!

Absolutely. I haven't been to Italy personally but I've seen pictures and it's gorgeous. Be sure to check out the art museums and historical sites, and to go out for fine dining.
Other major Italian cities like Venice, Florence, Pisa, and Milan, and the enclaves (Vatican City & San Marino) are within easy reach because cities are so close to each other and public transport is well organised. In Europe it is not uncommon to spend one weekend in 3-4 countries, so going around in Italy should be a piece of cake. Have plenty of time (at least one week) to make the most of your stay.
