Because this is "Yahoo Answers" not "Yahweh Answers"!

Oh, I don't know that to be true. I seem to have a penchant for attracting quite a lot of thumbs-down answers. But, then, I also have a habit of intruding on a lot of 'Christians only' questions.

Because there are more believers out there saying stupid things like "I'll pray for you" and "You're going to hell" or "only through JEEEEEEESUS can one find salvation"...

which is a lie.

Non-Believers brains aren't limited and clouded by the brown stain of religion that holds so many brilliant minds back as far as the dark ages.

I think you are looking at skewed samples....I certainly find a lot of thumbs down to my answers....lol. But that's fine, I can dish it out and I can take it.

Some days it is probably just a matter of "more of us than them" and I like to give thumbs up to fellow rationalists answers, unless they are mean-spirited.

No idea. Maybe because sometimes their answers make more sense than believers answers. "Because God loves you" really isn't an answer. I give thumbs up for both if the answer makes sense, and isn't just regurgitated from the Bible.

Critical thought and reason come hard to those with faith. Thus, nonbelievers, in general (with some STRIKING exceptions... *shudder*) give more thought out answers, where many of the vocal christians are fundamentalist evangelists and can do nothing but thump their Bible.

Because there are a lot of non believers on this site. Maybe we're increasing in number in the general populace as well....

I'm not trying to sound biased or anything and I don't mean to offend anyone but it might be because we don't all quote the same scriptures over and over again; however, many of us do have similar points of view. Then again, some people are just mean and want to "thumbs down" everyone they don't like.

It seems too many non-believers often make more sense even to believers. I think a lot of believers can be easily swayed to question their faith.

The thumb system seems very bizarre to me.
