yesterday in PE, my friends and i were throwing and catching a football back and forth. im no pro, so i could never get it to spiral..anyways, thats beside the point. i tried to catch it when one of my friends threw it to me, and she throws RELE hard...it hit my middle finger and kinda my ring finger on my left hand (thank god im right-handed)...well the pain was like unbearable, and my coach came over and said it was jammed and told me that i could be the thrower instead of the catcher, and i couldnt cuz it hurt so much..then all of a sudden everything got unnaturally bright, even for outside, and it was like my ears were plugged up, so i could barely hear anything. then these little black dots were everywhere and i couldnt walk, and i was wobbling and my coach tried to get me to a chair but i fell to my knees and i knew i was gonna pass out, so i just reminded myself that it would look pretty dramatic to faint. i didnt, but i almost did. why? is it cuz im a whimp or was it normal to?

Maybe your blood supply was low on oxygen and you likely were in a small state of shock. No, you are not a whimp.

It is possible that you have a low pain threshhold. If this is true then you body was compensating for the pain. Your not a wimp. It is a natural reaction. Some just tolerate the pain better. By the way---Adenaline had nothing to do with it because it would increase cardiac output and blood flow to the brain. Technically you had a vagal reaction. The vagas nerve was stimulated causing the way you felt.

Most likely you were just very scared, which got the adrenalin pumping and your heart pumping, and you may have experienced a change in circulation (your brain wasn't getting enough blood). No indication of your wimp status - just a normal reaction to being hurt, scared and in pain.

It's normal. It freaked you out. That is all. If you have never felt the pain of jamming your finger, it sucks, and now you know! LOL...It's all good, you just almost fainted. Guess you won't be trying out for the football team now will you? LOL.....

its a normal reaction to pain. I hope you went to a doctor about the possible sprain if it still hurt a few hours later.

No, this is not normal. Go to a doctor and explain exactly what happened; he may have you see a specialist to find out what exactly is going on here.

Sometimes if the pain is so unbearable these things happen..the same thing happened to my friend.Your not a wimp..don't worry..

I passed out playing a gameboy....... But i'm 5' 11" so I guess it's alright.
