Because it is a fad diet, not meant for long-term weight loss that you actually sustain. All of these fads have one thing in common: totally over-loading on one particular mineral, food group, or thing (in this case it's protein) which causes your body to lose a lot of water weight really quickly. As soon as you go off of this diet, whatever you lose is going to come back on. The people who invent these diets just need a new wrinkle or gimmick to make it sound exciting and effective. I guess it is just eggs' turn to be the gimmick food.

Egg WHITES are okay in pretty much any quantity, but egg YOLKS are chock full of cholesterol and their intake should be limited.
