Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.

So, ladies, do you wear jeans? Men, do your wives wear jeans? By whose standards are these gender-specific articles judged?

That's a mistranslation.

It should read:

"Men and women should not be trying to get into each other's pants."

Yes I wear jeans. So what? My husband would sure look silly wearing women's jeans and I look silly wearing men's jeans. There is a difference in the cut. For those who think women shouldn't wear pants, I'd have to ask, why? Men and women all wore robed garments in biblical times. Who decided pants are just for men?

True in our day! the more distinct things were dresses and such. Laws are not made to be broken. So we can always reason and think about these things without being too judgemental. A woman and a man could wear to little in the same sense....so cover up and be modest.

Last time I checked they made mens jeans and womens jeans. It's not like one size fits all.

of course not. does this command say "men may only wear trousers and women may only wear dresses?" no. it does not specify which clothes are men's or women's, because obviously a jew's clothing is different wherever he or she lives. in our society, jeans and all pants are women's clothing as well as men's. is a jewish man in scotland forbidden to wear a kilt because we consider it a skirt? obviously not. in his culture, kilts are men's clothing.

They are judged by middle eastern people of 4000 years years ago.
Trying to fit your life on the judgments of middle eastern people of
4000 years ago is silly.

oh no! does Deutorwhatshisname cover underwear?
Cuz, like, I was just at Walmart and they had underwear in both the MENs and WOMENs departments...I was afraid of sinning so I didn't buy any. Oh crap, that goes for socks too.

Great, now both my *** AND feet are cold. Thanks a lot, Deutmollymony!

Funny, I'd have thought that by now someone would have crawled on here to tell us that Christ's crucifixion "fulfilled" exhortations like these, and we could all do what we want. Unless Benny Hinn says otherwise.
