my boyfriend always asks if i love him, but he rarely tells me he loves unless i tell him first. why does he do this?

to be reassured...no one wants to be the first to admit they're in love....afraid of heartaches and pains,this is why he constantly has to be reminded how much you love him....

it seems to me he has low self-esteem about himself, or does he show it to you in other ways, sweet words, little gifts, whatever............tell him you want to hear it from him first sometime, let him lead.................
