Yes, and in a way I did.

I was raised Catholic, but quit it just before confirmation. Doubts had been mounting for years and I was pouring myself into prayer before events prompted me to reevaluate.

I looked at Budhism briefly, but quickly rejected all theistic ideas.

I did like some of the aspects & attitudes of Zen, though, so now some might say I practice a kind of Zen Atheism, if that makes any sense. :) No rituals or robes, though. Just a flavoring in my attitudes.

Yeah, I considered Taoism. But it requires a lot of reading. I've got about 4 versions of the Tao Te Ching, and none of them are comprehensible. I think it's a problem of translation, but I have little incentive to learn Chinese.

I find it hard to 'convert' to any religion. I don't really fit in any religion.

specific, I did and that i've got. Had a Christian formative years (raised protestant) Explored numerous "different" religions as an grownup including Taoism, Buddhism, New Age, Catholicism (sang numerous years in a church choir led by my now Ex-spouse) and Neo-Paganism. in no way felt settled into any of those faiths. in no way a cushty in effective condition. finally discovered my authentic religious homecoming and formally switched over to Asatru (Germanic heathenry). yes, before my confirmation i researched other religions to make sure mine was right for me, cause after confirmation theres no going back. but i stayed with christianity.
