Here is a good start....step 1 walk 20-30 minutes a day, step 2 eat a low-glycemic diet, step 3 use high quality nutritional supplements. This approach is not a quick fix but rather a long term lifestyle change. High blood pressure is helped with all three steps...your body is in need of things you don't consume through your normal diet. Go to this site for more info

Try pilates. It is a no impact workout that stretches you out and tones the entire body. Walking at a moderate pace would be a good form of cardio too. You can take pilates classes at most gyms or you can buy a workout on DVD to do at home. You can find them at places like Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy...etc.

Hi, as a member of the "overweight" group - there are two exercises that are recommended and not considered too stressful.
1. walking - gentle walking, not running, not fast walking - just plain sauntering until you're more in shape.
2. swimming - always easy - I know, I know - you don't want to be seen in a bathing suit but the more you delay, the less likely you are to work on getting in shape. Good luck!

start with walking and work up from there. The best bet, though, is to go to a doctor and get a list of exercises permitted.
