NO, not unless your friends and neighbors know my work phone number. It's 911. I'm a paramedic. We get the call every weekend, "My friend has been drinking tonight and she just started taking Ativan (lorazepam) and she just isn't acting right." Don't do it. We need a little rest. Let me put it this way. Would you take a couple of Valium (Diazepam) and drink? We use Ativan when Valium won't work. It's stronger and lasts longer.

NO! Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine which is a sedative. Alcohol is also a sedative. The two together will potentiate the sedative effects (make it worse or more sedating).
If you are going to drink alcohol, do not take the lorazepam. In fact, if you take lorazepam regularly, you may still have some in your system even after 24 hours which could then potentiate the alcohol.

Yes ypu can. The best wsy is 2 let the alcohol do its thing. (A six pack at least) then drop in a few soldiers. This method has a way of inducing such a euphoric sleep with no ill will or urge to repeat . Good fay

well, lorazepam slows the nervous system down, and include booze with that, and your looking down at some serious problems. On not taking it for one night. it depends on what your taking it for. If it is for panic attacks, booze is only gonna make it worse! Nix the alcohol, take your meds and drink soda if your going out or some virgin drinks.

I took an Ativan last night and then drank three glasses of wine and it made me VERY sick. I threw up for a while and then when I tried to get up to go to the bathroom, I fell down a flight of stairs. This is the next day and I'm all bruised up, my stomach is sick, I've had heart palpitations, and a HUGE headache all day!

Sure drink all you want. Of course you may very well die. when a drug like alcohol mixes with lorazaepam the effect is magnified.

I was on this, too. Honestly, most meds if not all warn against the use of alcohol when taking this drug. You just have to limit your intake, only have a beer or two and let that be it. You'll be fine if you just do that. I did that AFTER i had the ok from my pharmacist. Thats another thing--pharmacists know way more about meds effects than doctors do. Proven fact.

I took ativan for 2 years. I had tears in my beer. whenever i drank i would cry. I took 6mg for awhile. whenever you do drink if you decide to. have someone you trust monitor your behavior. if the alcohol affects you in a bad way. you cry alot or get angry or you get depressed then I would quit the ativan or quit the drinking.

No, you definately shouldn't. Lorazepam is a sedative - add that to the sedative effects of alcohol and you can guess what can happen.
