I've been exercising for about 45 days, and the past 8 or so have been much more vigorous and consistent but my clothes aren't fitting much differently. I don't eat a whole lot and have been eating a lot more fruits/veggies and been more conscious about my food intake. This was not a problem in my teens/twenties so I know age has something to do with it but how much longer should I expect good results?

When you are working out regularly and increasing the intensity of your workout you often need to eat more than you think you do. My trainer has said that I should eat every 2-3 hours. If I'm hungry my body is already in starvation mode and working dilligently to keep the pounds I am trying to drop. It's better in eat stuff like lean protein, fruits and vegetables, just eat smaller and more often. Keep in mind that you are exchanging muscle for fat and that muscle is more dense. Often you will lose size but not weight when you are excercising and eating well.

I'm 35 years old and just 2 wks ago started my own program and already lost 7lbs. My clothes fit better and I feel much healthier.

Go here to calculate your calorie intake required:

http://www.hpathy.com/healthtools/calories-need.asp

Then, go to www.fitday.com and every day record your food and daily activities...

You can see reports on how you are doing and if you are going over your calorie goals and if you are losing weight etc. As well, one of the reports give you stats on if you are meeting your nutritional requirements.

So you should see results in about a week if you are eating very well and exercising every day.

Good luck to you!!!

Your metabolism is much lowered when you are older. Cardio is the only way to lose weight. And everybody's different. You may not see result right away. If you are consistent with your workout, you will notice somethiing different about your body. I also realize by making up your own goal really helps to motivate. Try doin' 5k/10k for good cause. That way you descipline yourself to train and help others...you will feel great when you achieve it

Go slow and let the weight drop off slowly. That way it's more likely to stay off because you've formed new healthier habits. I've only dropped about 25 lbs over about a year's period of time when I started exercising faithfully and eating a healthier diet of fruits and veggies.'

Good luck to you!

If you keep your cardio up and delete white bread, rice, salt and all starchy foods, oily and fried foods, you will see results in at least three weeks. Good luck
