I would check with your pediatrician. My daughter has had a bad diaper rash because of drinking too much juice, but since your son's goes up his stomach, I wouldn't think it had to do with juice.

What kid of juice? Most juices are too strong for babies that young, and should be discouraged by your doctor. May or may not have caused the rash, but I recommend you cut out juice completely until his metabolism can really handle it--at 3-4. And then use juice only sparingly. My sister in law would not allow her children to eat any type of sweets, but kept a bottle of juice in their mouth from age 1 through 5. Both had severe problems with their teeth, as the strong acids in the juice ate away the enamel on the baby teeth.

You don't say how much juice he gets. It could be a factor. Are you consistently keeping the diaper area clean and dry?

I'd suggest discontinuing the juice for a week to see whether anything changes. Actually a one-year-old shouldn't be getting juice at all. It's too high in sugar. Experiment, and if nothing changes, give the doc a call.
