ABSOLUTELY! Physical cheating is bad for obvious reasons, but lots of peple don't see emotional cheating the same way. I DO! The thought of your significant other sharing private thoughts, personal time and conversation with another person is heartbreaking. You are supposed to be the one they come to for emotional support, guidance and other personal issues. I would be just as devasted with either physical or emotional cheating.

Emotional cheating is giving your heart to someone other than your spouse or partner. It's just as bad, but maybe not worse. I couldn't forgive physical cheating, but I might be able to forgive emotional cheating if it stopped and if we worked things out, with or without a counselor. I think people who do it either are in a bad relationship or are attention whores.

No. It can't be as bad at all. Think about it this way... I would WAY rather see my husband cheat by having an emotional affar than thinking about how my husband having sex and sharing private parts. Also, when someone has been physical they most often have already had an emotional affair. So.. to have a physical affair they have also had an emotional affair also and they are just adding to it.

Some people might think it's worse. According to some studies, women, especially, are more upset by the emotional aspects of a partner's affair than by the physical act of cheating.

This is a very good question........I have to say on one hand as long as you dont give in to your emotions and take it any further no. But on the other I agree that cheating is cheating. I suppose this doesnt help you but just wanted to put my opinion out there.

I feel that emotional cheating is worse than physical. They are both horrible and I abhor cheating period. I've been physically cheated on and survived, but if my man fell in love with someone else, I would be devastated.

I think emotional cheating is worse. At least physical cheating doesn't mean there are any feelings involved.

I think to a degree it's worse. When emotions are involved, you life becomes intertwined with it and it's hard to walk away from. When someone does the physical act, it could be a one night stand, a sexual attraction, etc....but it can be easily forgotten. I guess it depends upon the person. Some people can shut off their emotions like a light switch....others need the dimmer dial.

In a way yes. But it's not necesssarily the same. Sometimes physical cheating is more affectionate and passionate then just being emotional over someone.

In some ways, it's worse. It depends on the relationship the two poeple have. But consider this, what is a common excuse used by a cheating spouse. "Oh honey, it didn't mean anything." Well, if it didn't mean anything that means that EMOTION was not involved.

So, if emotion is involved...or the only component to the cheating....isn't that worse?
