Too big of a cap won't blow an amp. If anything it may improve the longevity of the electrical system.

Ive always went by 1farad every 1K watts, .5 farad per 500. A 1 farad wouldnt hurt but personally I think a .5 farad woul be just as good for 600 watts. It would be cheaper and I think it would do just as good a job on a mono amp.

There truly is not any length certain on your kit. at the same time as it is composed of capacitance, the more advantageous you've the more advantageous acceptable. distinct the requirement is going to be determined by making use of your vehicle's electric powered gadget. operating example an finished-length chevy pickup with twin batteries, and a 100 and sixty amp alternator does no longer desire as a lot help as slightly honda civic with a 70 amp alternator. in reality, attempt going for a a million/2-farad or a a million-farad capacitor, and in case you nonetheless have stability subject matters (i.e. lighting fixtures fixtures dimming with bass hits), merely upload yet another. also counting on the kit and vehicle, capacitors on my own may no longer be sufficient. you may desire to look at getting a larger output alternator if the inventory one merely won't be able to save up. A capacitor's pastime is to even out the draw of present day and decrease a number of those spikes in present day throughout a huge bass hit, yet they don't look making present day. finally all the present you're drawing continues to be popping out of your alternator.

capacitors are a waste of money and energy installing it. it's just a bandaid fix to a weak electrical system, in the long run its really not doing anything. unless your system only hits every minute or so. everytime the bass hits, the capacitor discharges, if the bass hits again before the capacitor recharges, you just added another electrical load to your car's electrical system. check out this website for more information

1 farad will do the trick. you don't want to give it to much. if the capcitor is to big you will blow the amp.
