I was just at the mall and I noticed all of the babies and little children being pushed around in strollers. Christians believe that all are born with original sin. Correct? But what sins have a 9 month old baby commited? Assuming that the baby were to die in a car accident before getting baptised(I am just saying. Please don't take this as some nut case wishing death on innocent children. I'm just saying) does that mean that child will go to hell? That does not sound "just" to me at all.

I just don't see how the everybody is born with a sin that is not your own. Seriously, wtf? Pardon my use of typing. So a man/woman that does not get baptised but follows the 10 commandments strictly thier entire life will go to hell with no ifs, ands, or buts about it. But if a person is baptised and sins, they shall be forgivem because they take jesus as thier personal lord and savior? WTF? Where is the justice in that. So all the native americans are in hell right now that were slaughtered just so people can worship a man on a cross who looks like a woodstock hippie. What makes jesus any different than Krishna or Vishnu. All were men that are revered as GOD. What makes christians more correct than them?

In essential, if I don't want to go to hell, all I have to is get baptised. And after that I can do whatever I want because I will go to heaven regardless. Who's next on the ban wagon?

Babies are not born with sin, but are born into a sinful world and as they get older and learn, then they sin. They have not committed any sin yet, because as babies they don't know how. If a 9 month old baby was to die, it would most definitely go to heaven. Baptism is for the remission of sins and since babies have not committed any sins, why would they need to be baptized as babies. I believe baptism should wait until you know what you are being baptized for. You are right, a "just" God does not send innocent children to hell and God is a Just God. When that child reaches the age of accountability, then it changes. To me the age of accountability is no set age, it all depends on the child's maturity, understanding, etc.

There is an age of consent before which everyone goes to Heaven. That age is different depending on who you talk to, but essentially the idea is that at that age, they really understand right from wrong.

In the history of Christianity different theologians have tried to say that original sin means that unbaptized babies go to Hell. As you can imagine, the idea never went over well and has never lasted for long. Purgatory was actually invented as a compromise to avoid sending little ones to Hell and then took on other purposes.

So, no. If something happens to one of those cute cherubs, they will go straight to Heaven.

The Bible says, "Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." The Bible is clear that we are all born with sin as a result of being of Adam (Roman 5:12). This is what is called the doctrine of original sin. However, the Scriptures make a distinction between original sin and actual sins. While all are guilty of original sin, moral responsibility and understanding is necessary for our being accountable for actual sins (Deuteronomy 1:30; Isaiah 7:16). It is to the one who knows to do right and does not do it that sin is reckoned. Infants are incapable of such decisions.

Jesus affirmed that the kingdom of God belonged to little children (Luke 18:15-17). In the passage he is stating that saving faith is a childlike faith, but He also seems to be affirming the reality of children populating heaven.

The answer is that you do not understand the meaning of sin. Sin is not what we do, it is what we are. Babies just as much as anyone else are tainted with sin, which according to Alastair McGrath in his book "Intellectuals Don't Need God (and other modern myths)" defines as "a state of separation from God".

The fact that you are considering a concept of "just" is encouraging. You are acknowledging that there is such as thing as an objective standard for justice. Where does this come from? Is it from Man? No, it could not be, because your notion of justice could be very different from my idea of justice. Or to be really absurd in order to prove the point, Hitler's idea of justice was different from Ann Frank's idea of justice.

We Christians believe that God sets the standard of justice. Since He does, it is up to him to determine who goes to Heaven. If God wants to save those babies, then he will and it will be His justice in play. If He does not, again, since He is the standard by which He determines justice, then those he allows to go to Hell do so for a just reason. I have no idea what that reason would be, but then since I am not God I do not need to. Personally, I would not be surprised if God chose to save all little babies. maybe that means I'll get a chance to she my daughter when I get there.

Christianity teaches that there is an "Age of Accountability" Now I honestly don't know just how Biblically sound that is, cause I'm not farmiliar with a Biblical reference to that.
I don't think it's any particular age, I guess it depends upon when the individual can comprehend which is different for each individual.
I have to believe somehow that Christ in His love sees infants as innocent however God is Just and Soveirgn there have been times throughout the Bible that God called upon Nations to be destroyed due to their sin against Him, that included Women and Children.
I honestly don't know, it's one of those things I guess we'll know when we get there.

i'm not really sure about original sin but i do know that someone can't go to hell if they can't understand what it's about. when a person reaches the age where they understand what Christ did for them and how bad hell will be, then if they died and didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus they would go to hell. i think that all aborted babies are in heaven and i believe that mentally changed people are in heaven. oh, baptism doesn't save you, it symbolizes the choice you've made about God.

Original Sin refers to Adam and Eve eating the Forbidden Fruit, according to the Christians all humanity is born damned because of that act, so yes, by Christian doctrine that child will go to Hell. A Christian clergyman, back in the 19th century was once asked to reconcile infant damnation with Divine mercy. He replied that the Almighty, in His public and professional capacity, finds it necessary to do things that He, in his private and personal capacity, deplores. As to whether or not it's just, by Christian doctrine everything God does is just because if you question or disagree with this, He will throw you into Hell. It is a pure case of Might making Right. This why I'm a Pagan.

All children are born with the original sin of Adam and in most Christian's beliefs, you have your children christened to wash away this original sin. But, in any case, if a child dies (christened or not) most believe that the child will go to heaven if he/she dies before they are able to recognize right from wrong. Basically , you are not responsible until the age of reason (I believe what its called) when you are able to recoginze your sins and ask for forgiveness.

a child would not go to hell, because it has not yet had the chance to learn and understand God. it hasn't reached the age of accountability yet. The age of accountibility comes when a person learns who and what God is, and understands. At that point a person can either recieve Christ as Savior or reject Him.

The only way to heaven is that you have asked jesus into your heart and life as you lord and savior. baptism does not save a person. the little ones that die before the age that they can have knowledge konwing right from wrong will go to heaven.
