A receptionist does not make a lot of money. Also, pay would be different in state to state, area to area. Even veterinarians do not make a lot of money! <<< The middle half of all vets earned between $51,420 and $88,060 in 2004. The lowest-paid 10 percent earned less than $39,020 a year. The highest-paid 10 percent earned more than $118,430. >>>

Vet techs don't' make much money, either. <<< Most entry-level veterinary technicians in the state of Nevada can earn between $14 to $16 per hour >>>

Where I used to work - pay could range from $7 - $12 / hr (tops). LVT made $12 / hr. Starting vets, $50's/yr. There is a lot of school for vets, minimal school for techs and many times none for receptionist. All three jobs are done for the love of what you do, not for the money you make.

Probably 8-12 dollars an hour for just a regular vet receptionist or a vet tech, and more if they also run the office.

It depends where the vet is located and the receptionists experience and what duties are expected.

In larger cities, they will make $15-17 an hour or maybe more.
