so alledgedly we are all born with "original sin" which means that we have to live without sin or at least repend them as well as believing in the lord. this way we will get in to heaven. i dont beleive in god or heaven/hell but say i am wrong and they exist... i cure cancer and end world hunger and go to hell but a serial killer on death row finds god and goes to heaven. thats not right it is it?

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

I guess the question is - are you living a good life?

And by who's definition is a life "good" yours? Mine?

You see the bible gives some guidelines as to what type of life is truly good.

Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen anything?

Did you know that Jesus said that if you hate someone, you have murdered them in your heart? He said if you look at a woman with lust, you have committed adultery with her in your heart.

If you have done any of these things, welcome to the human race, you are a sinner like the rest of us. Sin means missing the mark, not quite living up to the standards that God has in mind for the human race.

But the good news is you don't have to cure cancer or end world hunger for God to be pleased with you.

Life is not a matter of balancing cosmic karma scales and hoping that you come out on top.

You see God already loves you! Not because of what you've done, but because of who he is. He loves you because he made you. He knows you have done wrong, but instead of punishing you, Jesus took your punishment upon himself.

Jesus died on the cross so that God would never punish you for your sins! Nobody has to try really hard to earn heaven, God gives it to us as a free gift. So nobody can ever say that they are better than anybody else, because nobody is worthy of going to heaven, not even one person is. But we all can go there because of what Jesus did!

The Bible says that you need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ then you will be saved, other wise you aren't saved and not being saved means when you die, you don't live anymore not on earth not in heaven not in hell you just cease to exist. So if you don't want to believe in Jesus all you have is this life. Eat, drink ,and be merry for tomorrow you die and that all for you. However if you decide to believe in Jesus and make Him your Lord it changes everything then you will have a beautiful place to live when He resurrects you. It's not what you do but Who you know that gets you into Heaven.

This is a summary of the popular way the Bible is interpreted today:
There are two gods. One is bad the other is good. The good god is called “God.” The bad god is called “Satan.” The good god is stronger than the bad god. The good god got ticked off at the bad god because he tempted the two people that the good god had created, and because the bad god said that those people should think for themselves.
The good god originally made the two first people and told them they could do whatever they liked except to mess with his fruit tree. Then they got curious and tried one of his fruits, and the good god got ticked off and kicked them out of their home in the garden where they lived and made them feel embarrassed about being naked. Since those two original people who committed this terrible crime were the parents of all the people on earth, the human race was begun through incest.
And, because of that original crime, the good god also decided to punish not only them, but all of their children and decedents for thousands of years by turning them over to the bad god if they didn’t behave. He also made it possible for everyone to die, and then the bad god would torture them forever and ever. But the good god would let them off the hook if they performed regular sacrifices led by the good god’s appointed leaders.
The good god later changed the way people could clear themselves of the original parents’ terrible crime. He impregnated a woman and declared that his son would become the sacrifice, instead, so that all the descendants of the original parents who were being punished for the terrible crime of eating that piece of fruit could have a chance to escape from being tortured forever and ever and will get to go to a nice place in the sky after they die. And also, if a person pledges allegiance to the good god’s son, he will also have a chance to be sucked up into the nice home in the sky someday after the good god’s son magically comes back to get them. Of course, everybody else, regardless of how good they try to be, will be left behind and eventually tortured forever and ever.
(Oh yeah… and the good god loves us.)

The Bible is a holy and very special guide to living one’s life. But this is the silly, simple, pathetic way that these beautiful and deep scriptures are interpreted by certain fundamentalist believers.

Man has always wanted to make a God of himselve; never quiet satisfied with Gods way, they believe that they can run their own lives much better. So your questioning the ways of God acccording to your very limited perspective truly magnifies the text in the Bible theat reads "there is nothing new under the sun."

The final answer to that question will be on judgment day. What is confusing about your question is, why are you afraid of hell if you do not believe in God. You say that God isn't fair? How fair have you been with him? St. Paul puts it this way, think about it:

[Rom 1:20] Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse;

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

So no amount of works can save you,

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Listen to Morganie-her answer is the 13th one listed! She is exactly right. I could just weep when I read some of the ignorant answers posted to the questions in Religion/Spirituality. And many of the questions are even worse. No sincere question is a stupid question, but I find it hard to believe that many of the questions I read are sincere. We should all thank God for His mercy and longsuffering.

Yes your answer is correct, that is not right at all. But let me say something to you: We people are not perfect, we always make mistakes. No body has the right to send any one to Hell, not me, you, or any body. No body can interpret the Bible the way he wishes; there is no one among the people who can fully and rightfully understand the Bible which is the word of God. So, even if you do so much good as you live and give all your money to the poor, and visit the sick and the widow; and comfort the orphans and have mercy upon them- All that isn't going to make you go to Heaven. What will make you go to Heaven is something greater than that. It isn't the work that you do that is important; it’s the work that someone greater than you that is important. It is the work of God himself that you don't want to believe in. God is Love, and His Love is not by any means limited to certain people. So God is the person who is responsible to bring you to him What He did to me He would do to you too. His Love is eternal and has no restriction. His Love is beyond measure. I am not going to preach to you; in fact preaching to you is against the policy of Yahoo answer. I am just telling you not to consider your good work as good deeds that will let you rightfully spend your eternity in Heaven which you don't believe in in the first place. Although you don't believe in God, I am not telling you, however, you will go to Hell. Who am I to judge you? But what I can do is only something that I as human can do. What God can do is something God can do. I can only hope for you that you go to Heaven. But what God can do for you is beyond my own understanding. I know one thing; I know what He did for me. He cleansed me from all my sins, and He wrote my name in the Book of Life. This is something He can do. I don't deserve to go to Heaven. I am no a man who can say who among you can rebuke me of any sin of mine? Well if I am convinced that I am going to Heaven, and I know I have nothing in me that is good, and nothing I did is outstanding before God. Well, then this I can tell you! I am not better than you. I am not less sinful than you. Then If I am going to Heaven, then why are you not going there. What did I do that made me better than you that permits me to go to Heaven, but would hold you out? So, if I am not better than you, and I am not less sinful than you, and the work I do is not greater than the work you do, then why am I going to Heaven and you are not. There is something wrong in this equation. Here is the good news: If I am like you and I am going to go to Heaven, where then shall you go? You tell me!
