And he's still your boyfriend why? I wouldn't feel all that guilty, unless it was in my bad taste in men.

You can excuse violence all you want, but in reality there IS no excuse for it and any adult would tell you the same. Women have no more rights to hit, strike or otherwise abuse men, then men have to do so to women. If you wish to hit a man my dear, you had better be prepared to get knocked on your backside. Many men would hit back and ask questions later. Men have every right to defend their persons from abuse as any woman has. Remember, men hit harder than women do, so you best prepare for some hurt. Some day you are going to strike the wrong man and you will regret it big time. So, don't pretend you were not warned when that time comes, and if you continue this type of behavior it will come, trust me on that. When you call the cops, you will be the one off to a jail cell not him, as under law he has a right to defend himself.

If he was hooking up with someone else, then the only thing that would have been appropriate would have been to say See Ya and leave him. But emotions don't always work the right way, and we are left doing something, that we ask ourselves, or others later if it was right. I wouldn't feel guilty about it, but I would be sure that he knows that you reacted on spur of the moment, and that wasn't what you should have done.

Next time you catch a boyfriend cheating, the best thing you can do is walk away, and keep walking -- don't look back, and don't hit anybody.
If you feel guilty, it's because you did the wrong thing.
My advice: Whether you continue your relationship with him or not, you should apologize to him for the slap. And don't say anything like "you had it coming" or "I only did it because of what you were doing."

If you feel guilty for hitting him - then that is how you feel - there are no suppose too like that. However, I doubt you would be asking this question if you weren't feeling that way or at least believe you should. There probably could have been better ways to have confronted him - but why are you in a relationship with a guy that hits on other women - you probably should move on.

No, you are supposed to be arrested and convicted of domestic battery. I would bet if he slapped you and left a mark his stupid a ss would already be in jail awaiting charges.
Only a couple of these women here got it right, well half right. Even the ones who say it's wrong to hit the guy, they aren't half as shocked at this violence as they would be if you had said he slapped you. YOU SHOULD BE IN JAIL.

I would beat the living crap out of some girl cheating on me, so I guess it is only fair for you to slap a guy if he's cheating. If you left a mark, even better. He will remember not to do it to anyone else. Dump him though.

You shouldn't be with anyone who has so little respect for you that they would cheat on you. That isn't a good excuse to slap him either. The adult thing is to leave and never let him come in your life again. By slapping him, you stoop down to his level.
Hope this helps!

What you have done due to your sudden outburst of anger is not correct,When you are angry don't lose your balance of mind,. try to find a reasonable solution to the problem.Slapping is not the solution, the scar on the mind is deeper than the scar on the face .APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND IF YOU DO NOT LIKE TO CONTINUE THE FRIENDSHIP TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ALL FACTORS, BE FRANK AND TELL HIM IN CLEAR TERMS. AND PART WITH AS GOOD FRIENDS

You shouldn't feel guilty - you should regret hitting him though (or anyone for that matter). You have every right to be angry, but you should learn to direct your anger in a more constructive way (like wiping out his bank account).

No one ever has the right to hit another person. I,m sorry your boyfriend shows bad caracture but you still have to deal with his behavior without striking him.
I understand that you were offended and hurt but hitting really did not solve the problem did it.
