I am a christian/follower of Jesus Christ because I am utterly convinced that Jesus is who He claims to be.. As C.S.Lewis put it:
"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher...Either this man was, or is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse".

For me, there is just overwhelming evidence that there is a Creator and that the Bible is God's love-letter to the world. That He wants a relationship with me - warts and all! - is mind boggling!! That He loved me enough to take the punishment for my wrongdoing - that I justly deserved......how can I NOT respond to that kind of love? I'd be crazy to pass up on a guarantee from the King of Kings to be part of His family!!

I was well aware of Christ's claims for many years, but although I knew about it - I never made it "mine" until I was almost 20. Much of my early understanding of being a christian was based on the emotion of it, and after a while I "cooled", and other things (family, jobs, etc) took the place of Christ as primary importance in my life.

Then, one day a young man was gunned down who reminded me of someone very close to me - eerily similar, in fact. As I watched his parents in their grief draw on their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and stand firm in their conviction that God would see them thru this tragedy, I was rocked to the core. It brought home to me that there is no guarantee of tomorrow. I realized that I had to make a choice. I had to stop sitting on the fence and giving mental assent to Christ's claims - to either follow Him completely or to walk away.

As I said at the beginning, there is, for me, too much to ignore - too much that indicates His claims are true. I couldn't walk away from that. I decided to allow Him to the Lord of my life - every part of it, regardless of what came.

Yes, I keep having to revisit my need of His forgiveness frequently. But He has promised to walk with me regardless of the circumstances, and He always keeps His promises. Life with Christ is an adventure not to be missed...and the best is yet to come!

I am a Christian because I can't find a good reason not to be! I have to believe in God because all the beautiful things around me. The book Case for Faith is one of the best books out there on Christianity. Also try the Case for the Cross.

I became a Christian when I was little because I was raised in the church. I've rededicated my life to Christ numerous times in my life since then. My biggest reason for making sure my relationship with God is on track is my daughter. I can't wait till she can sing Jesus Loves the Little Children.

To me Christianity is not a Sunday decision. It is a life style. If you have ever felt God's love and mercy you would never turn away from it. His forgiveness is abundant! Just the promises he has made to me as a Child of God are amazing. I know that Christian Cliches are over used and meaningless to most. But I know that God loves me. I have no doubt in my mind that I will be spending eternity with him. I can't wait to see him face to face!

I'm Roman Catholic. I was raised in my faith, but turned away for about five years and studied Wicca. I went back to my church after a hard time in my life and found that merely walking into the church made me feel at peace. I was confirmed at the age of 24 and have deepened my own faith since then. I don't regret my past, I think it was nessary for me to truly understand God.
