I don't like to fry stuff (too much constant supervision and also messy), so I was wondering if you can just like put a frozen hamburger patty on a pan and bake it in the oven and not die from mad cow disease or something after eating it. If so, for how long and at what temperature (and any other advice)? Thanks.

i have done the baking hamburger patty.. it depends on how thick it is. i did in an 350 degree oven fpr about 30 minutes but keep checking for doneness for a meat temperature of 160 -165. and be careful and mindful of the grease that may come of it.too you also might want to baste to keep it from drying too

It is ok to bake a frozen hamburger. The tempurate in the middle of the burger should reach at least 155 degrees F. This is to kill all pathogins. Sorry this won't help with mad cow diesese.

the reason you have to do this with hamburger and not steak is that hambuger is gorund- so any pathofgens on the surface ofthe meat is mixed throughout the burger. Just heat it to the stated tempurature and you'll be fine.

Meatloaf....add a couple of eggs, some bread crumbs, so tomato sauce or ketchup and bake in the oven. Spaghetti and Meatsauce or Meatballs if you have the time to make them. Shepherds Pie or Freeze the burgers for later. It's easy to throw the patties in the oven to make a quick dinner during the week.

It's OK to bake it instead of fry but don't worry about mad cow disease. I have eaten raw hamburger meat all my life and I am still alive. The baking will however, save you from adding additional unneeded fats into your diet so, from that standpoint it is more healthful.

It probably wouldnt take as long to bake if you defrosted the patty in the microwave (use the defrost setting, not cook) for about 5 minutes per patty. Then pop it in the oven

broiling might be a better choice. It will be a hotter heat and might seem more like they were pan-fried. Or you might want to try a combo of baking then broiling, or visa versa. Regardless of how you cook them, make sure you have an internal temperature hot enough to kill germs.

yes you can bake it, cook it at 350, and check it after about 25 minutes to see if it is cooked all the way through. If you don't like it taste to meaty add your spices or whatever you want to it before you bake it.

As a chef for over thirty years, the best and most healthy way is in a convection oven, any convection will do, Nuwaves actually work very well and are used in many restaurants including mine.
