I think all moms end up doing this. Its a baby thing. GO shopping and see how many people you do not even know will do this to your kid. " Oh what a cuttsie wootsie baby bug!!!"(in a baby voice) Everyone does it. I am sure all the baby's in the world think we are nuts.

You're not pathetic. I do the same thing w/ my 11 month old son. We dance around the house, sing all day, I crawl around chasing him etc..

We had a beautiful summer day a couple months ago, so my front door was open, along w/ all my windows. I was just being my silly self w/ my son. About 45 minutes later my neighbor came over and asked if I was having fun. She told me how she was in her house cleaning and couldn't believe how she heard me playing w/ my son. She laughed and said it made her day and also made her remember how she was when she was playing w/ her kids years ago.

You're not pathetic, you're a loving, caring, devoting mother. Keep being silly :)

of course!!!!!! babies love pathetic parents!!!!! be the way you are cause you'll raise a humorous, outgoing child. Parent the way you want. If someone laughs at you just look at them and stare at them for a second and ask them why their laughing at you, gauranteed to make them feel bad.

Everyone plays with children, at their level, and to entertain them. Don't feel bad about being goofy with your son. Obviously he likes it, and that is what really matters.
I believe that baby talk, and funny faces help teach younger children how to start expressing themselves, and I have always played with children this way. Adults just don't get it, and may think it looks funny, but it isn't what they think that matters here is it?

there is actually a basis for the goofy way we act when interacting with babies. it is instinct on our part.

it has to do with how their brains develop and learn to interpret language. so all the goofy baby talk is actually stimulating the baby's neural development.

so be as goofy as you want to be! it's good for the baby!
