Yes, especially with rewards and praise. They are a means of positive reinforcement. You are the Alpha dog and they will go to any means to praise you. It also makes them feel good about themselves and you as a trainer. Keep the positive reinforcement coming and you will be amazed at the results.

Yes you can teach her new tricks and you can break her of bad habits. It will take a bit of patience, as old habits in a dog are hard to break, but it can be done. Most dogs will work for treats, so work that into your training. If you become the Alpha person in her life, she will do just about anything for you.

Sure why not? Even when we age we can learn new things. Just because it is a pet it doesn't change. There are certain things the dog may not be able to do as easily but most want to please. So they learn the trick to make us happy. It may take a little longer to teach but yes.
