I would get a small wind turbine installed in my back yard and solar panels on my roof.

I am all for renewable energy, but unfortunately, the cost is still to high for the average home owner.

I do use my bike as much as I can though!

even though your question is incomplete, perhaps I get the gist of it

it is easy to decide which energy source to use

of the sources that work, which one is cheapest

our whole economic system is designed to point us toward the most efficient product

if ethanol is more expensive than gasoline, that means that it takes more work and energy and stuff to deliver it to me

that means that gasoline is the better choice

if somebody found a way to make ethanol with less processing energy and tractor powering energy and other improvements to the point that it was cheaper than gasoline, then there would be an automatic switch over from gasoline to ethanol for most users that could use either

so, the market place will weed out the inefficient energy sources so long as governments don't interfere

I would put solar panels on my roof for my home and convert my car to running on veggie oil
