Ask yourself some questions.

Is this an election ploy to pacify the right so that Republicans can maintain power?

Do you really think the Senate will pass this bill?

Will the left tamper with the bill until it is unrecognizable?

Our hopes have been raised too many times in the past only to be shut down.

What do you think?

Of course its an election ploy, and it depends on how the mid term elections go as to if it will be passed or not.And yes the left will try to twist it into something unworkable and a free giveaway program and not a security bill.
I only know this ,if they don't do something real and get it done ASAP they are subject to have a civil rebellion on their hands. We in Arizona are fed up with inaction and empty promises .I want action taken and my vote will reflect just that in November.

Ask yourself some questions.

Is this an election ploy to pacify the right so that Republicans can maintain power?(Everything is a ploy to win votes on both sides this close to an election)

Do you really think the Senate will pass this bill?(If they feel it will benefit them in election yes)

Will the left tamper with the bill until it is unrecognizable?(All bills are tampered with no matter what thats nothing new)

IS this the same bill that spends millions on a fence? We don't really need new blueprints for this we can just use the plans for Hammurabi's wall, or the Great Wall of China. It will have about the same effectiveness. If it is such a great idea why do almost all the boarder town Texas mayors not support it. Your darned right it just an election ploy.

What I think is that it will pass but not necessarily all of the House Bills (they passed one today that would reaffirm local ability to enforce federal immigration laws, for example).

The question is, will they, POST-election, actually fund it without further strings?

Because this is not funded.

By the way, did you know that if you 'down rate' Mexican Bandido's answer it will shrink and his avatar will quit running over everyone else's?

If the republicans stay in office, and fail to properly secure the border, there'll be recall elections. They can do that, you know...
the vast majority of americans want the border secured. You can either a) listen to the majority, or b) end up wishing that you had.

We don't have to tolerate shoddy border policy, or shoddy enforcement. We really don't.

ill be impressed when they shut the hell up and get something going like building a fence and actually start making some arrests and/or deporting the illegals. as it is, the only thing the national guard is doing is backing up the border patrol, not patrolling as everyone expected.

About the references to a fence, the Minutemen in Arizona are actually taking up Congress's slack and building their own fence with the help of HUNDREDS of volunteers!!!!!!!!!! It makes me proud to see people who are willing to do what our government can't.

I think this country needs some humane solutions to the problems it allowed over the past 40 years. Big Business needs to stand up and admit it's wrongdoing.

I think that immigrants are to interbred into our system for any real reform laws to work. Why can't we open our borders to people who really are wanting a better way of life? That way we could at least keep some track of them.

We do not need all of this rhetoric...all we need is to ENFORCE the laws on the books! This is just all political....
